HR from the other side of the pond: interview to Oxford Global Resources
This month, I interviewed a major technology recruiter, Oxford Global Resources. I had a great conversation with Angela Kolarek, Senior Vice President of HR and Jennifer Cunnington, HR Director for Europe. Oxford has a large presence in Europe and Spain, and we wanted to benchmark Oxford best practices to support Spanish HR professionals. During the interview we covered three major topics that are on the table of most American HR professionals: the Great Resignation, mental health in the workplace and DEI initiatives.
Angela and Jennifer shared with me their strategy to retain and attract the best talent. After these two difficult years due to the global pandemic, they have based their recruitment strategy on flexibility as the key element to encourage a new workplace environment.
We also talked about another major topic, which is mental health in the workplace. Oxford has developed an open-door policy to allow employees to approach HR with regard to their mental health issues and eliminate the taboo around it.
Lastly, we touched on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) and what they are doing attract diverse talent and their specific strategies to develop more women in leadership roles.
